Is James Harden the Ultimate Finesser?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, I’m sure many of you know that NBA All-Star James Harden was granted his freedom from Houston and was traded to Brooklyn Nets to play alongside Kevin Durant. Congratulations are deserved all around, to be quite honest with you.

Congratulations to Houston on basically winning the trade with the haul, as details are shown above. I mean, they fleeced Brooklyn. What’s even more impressive, is that they were in control the entire time. Yeah, I know people are saying that Harden was in control because he got what he wanted. He left Houston, was traded to the team he wanted to play with, and he’s playing with players he wanted to play with. But I’m sure if you asked Brooklyn executives if the trade went as planned, they’d say no. I’m sure of this, especially since rumors are coming out saying that they tried including NBA headache Kyrie Irving in the trade package to Houston, but not to fast my friends. As once Irving’s name came up, Rockets’ executives put the brakes on REAL QUICK.

Rumors are, the Rockets wanted no part of Kyrie and refused any trade involving Kyrie. Talk about control. Sure, if Harden wasn’t going to be traded he would’ve kept getting fat, keep missing 3s, etc. But I’m sure Houston had the depth to stabilize Harden and his “tank”. But if they would’ve gotten Kyrie, then I think they would’ve implode and miss the playoffs.

How about Kyrie, tho? How does he feel? Apparently he’s PISSED!!!!! Now, I’m sure as you’re reading this, you’re telling yourself, “Yeah, when isn’t he?” But apparently, Kyrie is pissed because of the Steve Nash hire.

Now look, I know a lot of top tier players, especially in the NBA get a heads up or input on a new head coaching hire, but Kyrie isn’t one of those players. That is reserved to the top of the top, the Super Tier 1 players. Players like LeBron, KD, Kawhi, Giannis, and you can make the case for guys like Luka, Steph and Klay, and Dame. But Kyrie isn’t even in the conversation. Don’t get me wrong, Kyrie is a great player, but getting input on head coach hires goes to Faces of Franchises, Faces of NBA type players.

Now, do I see Brooklyn getting past the Kyrie drama and making a run for the championship? Yes and No. I believe, that with or without Kyrie, the Nets will for sure make the playoffs and may make it as far as the Eastern Conference Finals. But if they want to go to the Finals and especially win, Kyrie has got to go. He’s too much of a distraction, and this is no way judging him off the court. This is all, on the court stuff. I strongly believe Nets don’t win unless they dump Kyrie.

Talk about finessing. James Harden may not have been in control, as stated above, but he definitely finessed Houston. I mean, in a span of 3-5 days, Harden went from looking like he had nightly dinners at the local buffet to being in playoff form. But we gotta ask, was James wearing a fat suit? I mean he had to. No way he went from Kevin James to Adam Sandler in a matter of days.
