Los Angeles Lakers pre-season standout Talen Horton-Tucker has emerged into being one of the most loved players on the team as of late.
Over the course of the short 2020-21 pre-season, Talen Horton-Tucker also known as THT, blossomed into another useful role player at coach Vogel’s disposal, but how much playing time will he actually see? Well, THT averaged a total of 20 PPG along with 6 REB & 2 STL and guess what? this kid is only in year 2! Although social media has been raving about THT lately, coach Vogel unfortunately does not take that into consideration when planning the rotations, so who knows how much of Talen we’ll see going forward.
After adding 14 year vet Wesley Matthews and re-signing 2020 NBA Finals standout Kentavious Caldwell-Pope this past offseason, their experience may be what Vogel believes is more important. I’ll say this though, at some point the kid HAS to play after what we saw this pre-season and yes, you can say that it’s a very small sample size because it is, but hey why not have some fun this season and see how it works.
We still have yet to find out what the line-up is going to look like to start the season, we do know that two spots are secured by a couple scrubs named LeBron and AD but the rest is up for grabs. My prediction is Schroder (who I think should come off the bench), Matthews, LeBron, AD, and Gasol but Vogel may throw a curveball and start THT the Clipper killer.
One thing I know for sure is that this kid is special and very TALENted, he’s definitely part of LA’s future plans and will be a fan favorite for years to come.
