So I know that the website is for mainly Dodgers and Lakers related news, but after some BOMBSHELL news dropped late last night I thought that a blog had to be written regarding the Mets. Now, I’m a die hard Dodgers fan, but I’m also a baseball fan. I’m a rational, competent Dodgers fan that knows that baseball is better when teams like Marlins, Mets, Cubs, Padres are all good. And part of being a fan of baseball in general, I’ve kinda, sort of became a fan of the Mets after listening to Barstool Sports’ podcast, We Gotta Believe. Obviously, I root for the Dodgers over any other team, but after listening to episodes I was some what rooting for the Mets to turn it around and be a relevant good franchise. So when, Billionaire Hedge Fund founder Steve Cohen bought the team, I was excited for them as they will now be able to compete with the Yankees for “Team of New York” status. And things seemed to be turning around as they got underrated free agent catcher James McCann, and just traded for star Shortstop Francisco Lindor, who they fleeced from Cleveland.
Late last night, ESPN’s Jeff Passan dropped a BOMBSHELL last night about how recently hired Mets GM, man sort of responsible for signing catcher James McCann and trading for Francisco Lindor, Jared Porter is an absolute CREEP!!!!
I mean, come on guy. 62?!!!?? That’s fucking absurd. I cannot fathom how he doesn’t get the hint after unanswered text 5. I mean I’m scared to double text somebody, let alone send 62!!!!! My GOD. To make matters worse, the guy decides that he may still have a shot if he sends an unwanted dick pic?
But rest assured, the Mets acted fast and fired that moron first thing this morning. But not in some cliche, traditional press release that the team lawyers wrote up. No, no, no, no. You see, ever since Steve Cohen bought the team, even before the deal was finalized, he was on twitter interacting with fans. And everyone loved it, me too, because it showed he wanted input from the fan base. But, this was a nightmare situation for an owner to be on Twitter. Because from here on out, whenever Steve tweets something out, there will be some trolls always responding with “aren’t you the guy who hired a sexual predator?” or something along those lines. But back the way Porter was fired.
If you want a short recap, I recommend the video below from a diehard Mets fan who calls it like it is.
